Four arrested in home invasion robbery... They were booked on suspicion of home invasion robbery. Four people wearing ski masks rang the doorbell of Steven Kile's New York Street apartment Sunday night and, when he answered, began punching and kicking him, said Redlands police spokesman Carl Baker. They knocked the 29-year-old man out of his wheelchair, then ransacked his apartment and stole cash and electronics, Baker said. Kile, who uses a computer-typing device to communicate, called 911 but was unable to tell police what happened. Officers arrived and learned what took place by reading the victim's handwritten notes. The attack left Kile with cuts and bruises, and forced him to move in with a caretaker, Baker said. Detectives immediately began investigating, and learned that one of the suspects may have recently met Kile through an online social networking site. Baker said it was unclear if they targeted Kile because of his disability. News of the attack spread quickly, and prompted more than a half-dozen calls Tuesday from people wanting to make donations to Kile, Baker said.
