At a glance The local chapter of the American Red Cross helped 18 people displaced by the fire with funding for food, clothing and shelter, said Red Cross spokeswoman Victoria Connor.

Eleven of the residents displaced were children.

She said Rabbittransit provided transportation, and victims of the fire will be given lodging in area hotels.

She said the Red Cross will provide mental health counseling to anyone who needs it.

The Red Cross coffers were hit hard this year, but Connor said the community has responded to the organization's request for funds with contributions.
